IN 2020, WE ARRIVED IN TULUM FOR WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD BE A 2 WEEK TRIP, BUT WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE THE START OF THE REST OF OUR LIVES. FROM OCTOBER TO APRIL, WE SPENT 7 MONTHS TOGETHER EMBRACING THE PANDEMIC, WORKING FROM HOME, CREATING LIFE LONG FRIENDSHIPS AND MAKING MEMORIES THAT WOULD LAST A LIFETIME.
IN TULUM, WE BUILT OUR FIRST HOME TOGETHER, NAVIGATED THE INS AND OUTS OF OUR RELATIONSHIP, FOSTERED A DEEP LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING FOR ONE ANOTHER AND GREW PERSONALLY AND COLLECTIVELY.

GINA (DIMARTINO) REILLY
Gina is Jill's Maid of Honor and college roommate turned soul sister. Gina hosted Jill on her college visit to Boston College and the rest is history. She's the ride-or-die who's been through the highs of victory and the lows of defeat. Whether it's on the soccer field, a flip cup tournament or navigating the challenges of life, Gina has been by Jill's side through thick and thin. A true legend in her own right—Jill's soccer captain at BC turned professional athlete and represented the US on the international stage. Prior to becoming a proud mama of three, she earned her master's degree and was a teacher in NYC. Her chosen family, Gina embraced Jill into her expansive DiMartino family, where they shared countless summers with Vicki, Tines, Rosie, and the rest. The DiMartino's roll deep often found at the heart of the dance floor elevating the party.
CAROLINE SHUMWAY
Aka Shumsy Baby is Jill's Partner In Crime... literally. Sorry mom. The ultimate hype woman and all-time rallier, Shumway is one of Jill's long-time Choate friends and the ultimate woo girl who keeps everyone laughing with her quick wit and humor. Shumway is fiercely loyal and the ultimate connector; many of the guests here came into Jill's life thanks to Shums. Her social circle seems to stretch to infinity, and she's the glue that binds together a diverse group of personalities. But don't be fooled by her fun-loving exterior—this ad agency guru has a track record of working on some of the hottest brands and she's a force to be reckoned with both on and off the court. Did we mention she also played D1 squash? Shums knows how to bring the energy, if you don't see her, you will hear her. She will find you at the party.
LILY (ACKERMAN) EGAN
Lily is part of the Choate '08 crew and has been by Jill's side since their sophomore year. An old soul at heart, Lily exudes a classic, timeless coolness and effortless charm, akin to the aura often associated with the legendary Eric Clapton himself. She has a laid-back yet magnetic presence with a hint of mystery and depth in her demeanor. She is someone who appreciates vintage fashion, bourbon, and music, embodying a blend of sophistication and rock 'n' roll edge. A dominant force in the real estate industry, she currently leads some of the biggest developments in NYC while carrying that success into her home life with her beautiful daughter and beloved husband. Lily's wisdom, laugh, and bright smile will be hard to miss but don't be fooled by her size, she will be commanding the room and dance floor throughout the evening.

Francesca is more than just my cousin—she’s the sister I never had. Outnumbered by all our brothers and boy cousins, we were the power duo that brought the girl energy to keep the cousin gang in check. Francesca is a beautiful soul whose kindness shines in everything she does, especially in her work supporting children with special needs. Loyal to the core, she’s the one who always picks up the phone and shows up for every event big or small. She’s a free spirit with a wild heart, perfectly balanced by her compassion and a knack for remembering the little things. Whether she’s tearing up the dance floor or staying in for a cozy night, Francesca is always down for whatever the vibe calls for. CAROLINE (HART) HOWE
Caroline, better known as HART, makes up the Caroline Show duo and also represents the legendary Choate Rosemary Hall crew. Hart is a trusted, incredibly insightful and soulful friend. A deep thinker and problem solver, Hart has excelled as a brand strategist in the ad world, at business school and now at Linkedin. But her intellectual prowess is also mirrored by her appreciation of health, wellness, and self-work where she is a sounding board, therapist, and emotional support system for those around her. Her balanced, calm, confident and understanding personality is incredibly valued by Jill and has led to a deep friendship that spans timezones. And while her zen demeanor is her trademark, don't be fooled – there's a wild side to Hart just waiting to be unleashed under the Tulum Moon.
ELIZABETH (ELLIOTT) PORTER
Elizabeth, more formally known as Zelly, is one of Jill's best friends from New York. Having spent most of their 20's running around the city together, Zelliot then moved out to San Francisco to pursue the love of her life and now husband while also climbing the ranks at Morgan Stanley becoming one of the youngest and most successful females in their history. Jill has always admired Zelly for her dedication, loyalty, and ability to balance an incredibly successful career with her friends, marriage, and now motherhood. Always with a smile on her face and a bubbly attitude, her positive outlook on life is something we could all benefit and learn from. She thrives in warm weather and near any body of water. You will find her in the ocean, in the pool, or in the middle of the dance floor with a beer in hand.

KANAN IS AN ADULTS-ONLY HOTEL AND IS THE LOCATION OF ALL WEDDING PARTY EVENTS. ALL WEDDING GUESTS, REGARDLESS OF STAYING HERE, WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THEIR POOL, BEACH AND RESTAURANT DURING THEIR STAY. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO STAY LONGER THAN THE WEEKEND, WE RECOMMEND RENTING A CAR. THERE IS A PARKING LOT FOR GUESTS AT KANAN AND IT IS MUCH EASIER TO GET AROUND WITH A RENTAL. ALL MAJOR RENTAL RETAILERS ARE LOCATED AT CANCUN AND IN TULUM. HERTZ IS OUR FAVORITE BUT THERE ARE ALSO AVIS, BUDGET, AND OTHERS.

AT NIGHT, TULUM LIGHTS UP AND IS FILLED WITH FUN RESTAURANTS, BARS AND NIGHTLIFE. MAYAN RUINS
NORTH OF TULUM BEACH ARE THE MAYAN RUINS THAT SIT ON SEASIDE CLIFFS, HIGH ABOVE THE TULUM TURQUOISE WATERS. YOU CAN RIDE BIKES OR GRAB A TAXI. IT'S ABOUT A 25 MINUTE BIKE RIDE OR 15 MINUTE DRIVE.
CENOTES
ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE THINGS ABOUT TULUM ARE THE HUNDREDS OF NATURAL SWIMMING HOLES CALLED CENOTES. THESE NATURAL LIMESTONE SINKHOLES ARE FILLED WITH COOL WATERS THAT MAKE THEM IDEAL FOR SWIMMING, SNORKELING AND IN SOME CASES SCUBA DIVING. TWO OF OUR FAVORITE ARE ZACIL HA AND El GRAN CENOTE.
We recommend going with a rental car for easy and convenient access.
